This is I

          I’m an ordinary, typical girl with weird happiness in life. I am not the kind who will capture the attention of the crowd and yet, my face is quite forgettable. Many said that at first, they thought that I am a snob and cranky but they discovered later that I was not. I can be talkative and naughty especially if I’m with the people I’m so much comfortable with.

          I am Suzzette Anacion De Torres, born on the 17th day of November 1993, 17 years old at present. I am currently taking BS Computer Science in University of the Philippines Los Banos. Most people called me Suzie, sometimes Zette, while when I'm with my girlfriends, we call each other "girl!". Some of my favorite expressions that I almost say everyday is "Ui!", "Hala!", "Ngek!", "Whatever!" and "Shocks! Di pa ako nag-aaral! Huhu! Bahala na si Batman...".

          My family raised me in Batangas City where my father spent his childhood. I grew up in a peaceful environment with my older brother and sister and my cute and smart younger brother. I had my primary education in Balagtas Elementary School wherein I graduated as the class salutatorian and my secondary education in Batangas National High School wherein I graduated as the class salutatorian also.

          Some of my favorite hobbies are surfing the net, reading books and watching movies. Like any other people, I used to visit social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and the likes as well as multimedia sharing sites like Youtube. I am a very big fan (define BIG) of the Twilight series, both in books and movies and maybe it can be the best explanation why I have been a very big fan of Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan). I also read books of Nicholas Sparks and Dan Brown.

          Before I enter UP Los Banos, I have experienced so many hardships and heartaches in convincing my family to study here. When I told my family my desire in studying in University of the Philippines as I discovered that I passed the UPCAT, they have immediately discouraged me regarding my dream. I was fortunately qualified in the Diliman campus but my mother disobliged my request. She insisted that studying away from home is quite hard and I may possibly give up on living independent. Because of my disappointment on their decision, I did rebellious things like coming home late, avoiding the household chores and even ignoring my mother and not talking to her. At first, my family turned a blind eye on me and thought that I will soon change my mind. But as the situation became worse, they began to worry. My mother told me that if I really want to pursue in studying in one of the most prestigious school in the country, I should agree to transfer in the other campus in the UP system, in Los Baños, Laguna where few of my relatives are staff and instructor of the university. At first, I hesitated because I thought that UPLB is a school of farmers and it’s never been one of my preferred schools to attend in college. But later on, I accepted my mother’s offer.

          I am now studying in University of the Philippines Los Baños, taking BS Computer Science. I currently stay in Men’s Residence Hall, a dormitory managed by the UPLB itself. At first, I felt the uncomfortability and homesickness as I stay there. But as the days go by, I learned how to fit myself into the place. I develop patience, sociability and allowance management. Similar to my problem during elementary and high school, I find difficulty in the Mathematics subject.

          If I will graduate four years after now, I will take a masteral degree and a doctorate degree in Computer Science. But before that, I shall first find a good job so I can support my studies and contribute to the family expenses.  I want to financially support my younger brother's college education and send him to the best school that he will choose. I also plan to take a course of Creative Writing in UP Diliman because I really have a passion for writing since I have been a campus journalist from elementary to high school.

          Many may think that I’m a boring person, but if you will know me personally, maybe you’ll discover that I’m friendly and cool. I do my best to balance my life in terms of God commitment, education, leisure time, family bonding, and hang-outs with my friends. Many may misinterpret what I said but I know that it’s part of life. I just need to love more, hate less, hurt no one and ignore critics as much as I could. I want to embrace all the gifts that GOD has given me and live life to the fullest.
